YICD is a youth led community based organization that was birthed in 2013 in Mutoko with the aim of advocating for equity and justice in the mining of black granite in tue district. It has since worked extensively in the black granite and gold mining wards of Mutoko, Murewa, Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe and Mudzi, championing youths’ position in the mining value chain, sensitizing mining host communities on their environmental rights and creating safe platforms where mining host communities easily engage local authorities and mining companies on mining related challenges. YICD has also been instrumental in bringing companies companies and politicians to account in as far as black granite mining is concerned and has also spearheaded a successful tax justice campaign in Mutoko district.
